Jo became interested in painting about 15 years ago, attending classes at Bristol School of Art, Queens Road up to the present time. She enjoys life-drawing and portraiture but particularly loves abstract painting. These can be influenced by anything such as music and her love of the sea. At present she injoys painting on heavily textured ground. She likes to let the texture influence the way the paints flow and mix to achieve some degree of spontaneity. This is then worked into to achieve the effect she is aiming at. More recently she has become interested in textiles and stitch and has incorporated some of these techniques into her collages. Jo has had work hung in exhibitions in Bristol and Clevedon and has had 2 solo exhibitions.
