LISA NORMAN - Artist Statement

Lisa Norman is an artist based in Jamaica Street Studios, Bristol. She trained at The University of Ulster in Belfast where she gained a BA(hons)in Fine Craft Design specialising in Jewellery. She uses a variety of materials in her work; silver, copper, glass and aluminium with a strong emphasis on the contrasts in colour and texture between them. Her paintings combine paint with metal and predominantly represent emotions in their ever changing form. The metal is worked by cutting, heating with a blowtorch and tooled to form the finished piece. The glass is cut, arranged and heated to a temperature of 800+ degrees so that the colours are able to fuse together. Her work has been exhibited in local and national galleries, shops, Art Trails and Studio exhibitions.
