January 5th - February 7th 2007 David Mowat - An Improvised Pilgrimage Between November 2004 and April 2005, David, jazz musician and artist, walked 1,000 miles of the way to Jerusalem on an improvised pilgrimage, following the call of Quaker founder George Fox to "Walk cheerfully across the world greeting that of of God in everyone'. David faced freezing fog, blizzards and howling wolves in mountains, and was taken for an Israeli spy in Syria. The exhibition of 50 panels of David's drawings, journals and talismans designed by textile artist Anne Mowat Mulder, follows the route across England, France, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Israel.
