Jenny studied Fine Art/Painting at Cheltenham Art School and gained a BA Hons. She is interested in magnifying the small or homing in on detail and texture. She loves what oil paint in particular can do - from the smooth and glossy to the sculptural qualities it also has. Jenny has recently become interested in maps and satellite photographs, the world looks so unpopulated from space, but the act of observation and recording is so human. The human is often buried under the surface both emotionally and physically. She hopes some of these things are conveyed in her paintings.

Jenny Mizel is a local artist and art tutor at the Folk House.  She graduated from University of Gloucestershire, Chelteham Faculty of Fine Art, with a BAHons. Fine Art'Painting, 2.1  in June 1998.  She has exhibited in various venues since and had a painting accepted in Bristol Artists 2008 at CentreSpace Gallery, October 2008.
