An Exhibition of Paintings by Tania Schmieder
Tania Schmieder is 31. She grew up in Brunei and Dorset and now lives in Southville.
She works out of the front room of a shared house and started painting from scratch two years ago, after being inspired by a collection of still life paintings by Helen Simmonds in a gallery in Bristol.
She is also inspired by the daily painting bloggers and so has set out to do the same - to document her painting from the start to show what's possible for others:
This is the first time she has shown her paintings in Bristol.
1st - 28th November 2013 - in the café bar
"The Long and Winding Road"
A photography exhibition by Jade French and iPhoneographer Phil Harris from their travels in the USA.
Jade French has lived in Bristol for 15 years and was a founding member of the Bristol based "Second Look" photographic group. She started exhibiting her work in 2007 when she discovered that by taking macro shots of peeling paint and rust she could create beautiful abstract images.
Jade has exhibited extensively in Bristol including at the RWA and also has a permanent exhibition in the Foyer of W.G Grace on Whiteladies Road.
This exhibition is a selection of photographs taken of cars from Route 66, as well as images around the Salton Sea; an abandoned holiday resort from the 50's.
Phil Harris is an iPhoneographer and has been taking photographs solely with his iPhone since 2009. He uses his iPad and iPhone to edit his work. Being fairly new to exhibiting, he has none the less managed to show his work at galleries in Bristol and London.
Furthermore, in 2012 Phil was extremely pleased to receive an honorary mention in the IPP Awards (iPhone Photography Awards). This exhibition includes a selection of his favourite images taken during a road trip around the South West of America in 2012.
29th November 2013 - 2nd January 2014 - in the café bar
