This is an online course. Please check material lists section below for extra details. In these 5 online lessons develop your skill at drawing or painting faces, but at home. The tutor will email you photographs to work from just before each session, and we’ll then have a 2½ hour online lesson on Zoom. After the lesson you may continue to work on your portrait at home if you wish, and you can email your work to the tutor for further feedback. The course will start with a short illustrated talk about the structure of faces and then a demonstration of portrait drawing. Later in the course you'll have the option to work from one of your own photos if you wish, and those with some experience may wish to move beyond drawing, for example using pastel or paint. You may use any drawing or painting medium. Some previous experience of drawing from observation is recommended.

Latecomer
If a course has already started please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
