This Funzing Experience:
The idea that “self is an illusion” has never been so popular, with advocates drawing on neuroscience, philosophy and ancient Buddhism. Philosopher Julian Baggini, author of The Ego Trick, argues that this is too simplistic. You are real, but not in the way you probably thought you were, and this has implications for how we live and how we face death.

We're always being told to "be ourselves" – when working, dating, studying or just being. But what does it mean to be yourself and is it really desirable?

His TEDx talk which challenges the idea that there is a real you waiting to be uncovered and that being ourselves ought to be the priority has been view over a million times.

We should rather embrace the changing, fluid nature of the self to become what our better selves would want us to be.
