About

Grace has an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and a degree in English and Creative Writing from Sheffield Hallam. Grace is currently editing her second novel but loves to write flash fiction and short stories. Her flash fiction has been published in FlashBack Fiction, Riggwelter Press, Flash Fiction Festival One & Two, and read out on BBC Radio Bristol. Poetry had been published in Magma magazine. Her Flash in Novella was longlisted for the Bath Flash in Novella Award and Ellipsis Zine.

As a regular on the spoken word scene Grace has been invited to read at Bristol Festival of Literature, Bath Fringe, Flash in Hand, National Flash Fiction Day, Sanctum, Talking Tales, Satellite of Love, Bath Flash Fiction Award, Bristol Writers, WriteClub, Magma launch, Foyles Bristol and book launches.

Grace directs and set up literary salon, Novel Nights in 2013 to help writers learn more about the craft of writing from established writers and publishing professionals. Novel Nights showcases the work of up and coming writers in Bristol, Bath and Exeter.

Many of Grace’s students read their work out at Flash in Hand, Bristol’s only Open Mic dedicated to flash fiction that Grace set up in 2019 with flash fiction writer, Kevlin Henney.

Grace left behind a corporate career writing stories in marketing communications and PR to concentrate on creative writing in 2016. For the last two years she's been teaching at the Folk House.

She says, 'I get huge satisfaction out of teaching; in nurturing writers,  helping them find their writing voice and develop their stories.'

Here are some snippets from her students commenting on her courses.
