I have always loved glass. The deep shining jewel colours which change throughout the day with the light, and cast colourful shadows in sunlight. The black lines which set off the colours so perfectly.
After completing a design degree, I discovered stained glass evening classes near my home. It was a revelation. I worked on the techniques, enjoying the freedom to design and make what I chose. I continued my studies at Bath College, which enabled me to develop my artistic and technical abilities with glass.
I create panels and windows to commission, designing and making individual artworks for public buildings and private individuals. Stained glass panels are a great way to express individuality, and add colour and movement to your environment. I also work with fused glass. I can restore, resize, and maintain existing traditional stained glass windows.
I have been teaching stained glass techniques and fusing since 2009, and I love watching new students build up their confidence as they learn how to work with glass. Everyone learns in different ways, and students produce such an astonishing range of artworks. The act of making is so beneficial.
