Courses description

Extraordinary and highly diverse art was created in the years between the two world wars. The focus of this term's course is the 1930s - a decade dominated in the art world by Surrealism but also one coloured by the rise of Fascism. In Germany this led to the infamous exhibitions of degenerate art while the atrocities of the Spanish Civil War shocked Picasso into creating Guernica, one of the most famous paintings in the world.
