Tutor: Holly Foskett-Barnes
Designed to nourish your wellbeing and grow your artistic confidence, this popular course returns to explore nature's abundance this Autumn. Each week, you will explore a new botanical subject - including plants, trees and fungi - and use them as inspiration for your own watercolour artworks. Along the way, Holly will guide you through accessible, step-by-step techniques, helping you grow a body of beautiful seasonal paintings.
More than just a painting class, this course is about slowing down, tuning into nature, and enjoying the process of creating without pressure.
What you will learn and take away:
~ Gentle warm-up drawing techniques to relax your body and mind
~ Practical watercolour painting tips to build skill and confidence
~ Ways to enjoy the creative process over any outcomes
~ A mindful approach to creativity that supports your wellbeing
~ A personal portfolio of autumnal artwork
~ Tools and tips to continue your creative journey beyond the course
~ A deeper connection to the natural world through an artistic lens
No prior experience is needed - just bring yourself and a willingness to explore. All levels and abilities are warmly welcome.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
