Do you want to learn a musical instrument but do not know where to start, or perhaps you have found your old school recorder at the back of a cupboard and fancy playing it again?
The recorder is a fantastic instrument for beginners, found at a relatively low cost. It is quick to pick up some basic notes and tunes. There is plenty of scope for solo playing, ensemble playing, or even branching out to other instruments. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of how to make a good sound, how to play the notes and a few tunes, and how to look after your instrument. You will come away with enough material to keep you playing and advice on next steps.
Jennifer is a specialist recorder teacher and Alexander Technique teacher. She started playing at age six and never stopped. Her group Pink Noise plays concerts in Bristol and across southern England.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
