Join performing poet and novelist Stefan Mohamed for a fun, relaxed exploration of poetry and its creative and mental benefits. Share and workshop new material and experiment with different styles in a low pressure environment tailored towards those who may be interested in poetry but have not yet found the time or opportunity to practice it. The aim of this course is to help you find a place for poetry in your life - perhaps as an emotional outlet, perhaps as a new craft to hone and develop, or simply as a relaxing hobby.
Stefan Mohamed graduated from Kingston University in 2010 with a first class degree in creative writing. He has been writing poetry in some form or another for most of his life, and has been performing his work in Bristol and beyond since 2012. He has published two collections of poetry, PANIC! (Burning Eye Books, 2016) and Farewell Tour (Verve Poetry Press, 2022), and one pamphlet, The Marketplace of Ideas (Stewed Rhubarb, 2021). He has also had four novels published by Salt Publishing.
Writing implements of some kind - pen / paper, Microsoft Word, typewriter, whatever works!

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
