Start to learn Italian. The course is intended for beginners: people who have never studied Italian before or who have a basic idea but also great uncertainty about their knowledge. You will learn a basic command of the language, becoming familiar with everyday expressions. You will make general questions or sentences such as introducing yourself, talking about your hobbies and daily activities, weather or time. The course content includes reading, writing, audiovisual, listening and speaking components.
If you are unsure of your level we strongly recommend that you check with the tutor before enrolling, as it is not always possible to transfer you after a course has started. Please email folkhouselanguages@gmail.com or phone the office on 0117 926 2987 and we will be happy to put you in touch with them.

Barbara makes the lessons really exciting and is very patient. It is the last lesson of the evening, but Barbara is always on really good form. She understands that people have commitments and lives and there is never any pressure. Barbara takes the burden out of learning.
Student testimonial: Barbara has a great sense of humour and is really enthusiastic and her language examples are powerful and memorable. She is able to give us loads of current, cultural takeaways, which is helpful in understanding the people and how they communicate. She has given us the confidence to have a go.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
