This workshop is suitable for those with a 35mm or 120mm film camera. Using steeped plant material, vitamin c tablets and washing soda, participants will learn how to make their very own darkroom chemistry at home from mint and other plants they find out in the world. This can then be applied on to light sensitive materials, and for this workshop we will use it to develop a black and white film. We will forage for the plants in the Darkroom garden and use these to create the developer. We will see how the developer works in real time by making prints using darkroom paper. There will then be a demonstration on how to load film into a developing tank and then we will develop our films together using the plant based developer.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
