We are looking forward to opening our doors again in September, we have missed our students, tutors and visitors and we know you are keen to learn face to face again.
We have been working very hard over lockdown to make sure we are ready to open our doors safely.
We have followed guidelines closing and we will be adapting as we go.
We have put some new rules in place, and we would really appreciate it if you could do your part to follow them to keep yourself and others safe.
If you are not ready to return to face to face classes, we have an online programme which you can find on our courses page (search for ‘online’ under venue).
If you are a student due to attend in the Autumn term here is the information you need to read before attending.
Following guidance from Public Health England, we have put new measures and procedures in place to keep you and our staff safe.
We have added hand sanitising stations throughout the building, and we will be encouraging everyone entering to wash/sanitize their hands. Sanitizing wipes will also be placed in all classrooms so students can wipe down their workspace before and after use.
We have stepped up our cleaning protocol, the entire building will be cleaned several times a day. Classrooms will be cleaned after every class and equipment will be sanitized between use. We have added cleaning stations throughout the building and introduced ‘Fogging’ in high traffic areas.
Clear signage will be placed throughout the building to show you which direction to walk and which side of the walkway to keep. We have created a give way system in the corridors to allow people to move safely throughout the building. All classrooms have been laid out to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Changes to classes
We have cut class numbers to adhere to social distancing guidelines and all classes have been adapted to allow tutors to reflect social distance and cleaning requirements.
Our café will be take-out only until further notice, consequently, opening hours might be affected. Outdoor seating and tap water will be available from the courtyard.
All toilets will be unisex, please use both men and women’s toilets to avoid queues. There will only be 2 people allowed in the toilets at one time (our men’s urinals will not be in use).
Bristol Folk House Staff and Tutors
We will be doing regular health checks with staff and have installed sneeze screens at reception and in the café. Where necessary we will be providing our staff and tutors with PPE.
Stay home if you are unwell
You must not come to the Bristol Folk House if you or anyone in your household has had COVID19 symptoms or someone you have come into contact with has tested positive.
Arrival and Departure
Please give way to those arriving from Park Street, where possible please arrive at the Park Street entrance and leave via the rear on Culver Street.
Please go straight to the classroom unless visiting the café or reception. Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your class. If you are early, please wait in the courtyard. When your class has finished please leave as soon as you can.
Upon arrival please use one of the hand-sanitizing stations.
Please stay at least 2 metres apart from others and follow social distancing signage throughout the building.
When entering the Bristol Folk house, you must wear a face covering. These must be worn throughout the building. We encourage them to be worn in the classrooms as well. Please make sure you bring your face covering with you.
Please be aware some people may be exempt from wearing face coverings.
All toilets will be unisex, there will only be 2 people allowed in the toilets at one time (our men’s urinals will not be in use).
Please bring a full water bottle to fill up from the tap in the courtyard.
Please check material lists careful as we will be asking students to bring equipment with them to avoid sharing (for example yoga mats and aprons).
Where possible please enrol online or by the phone. If you are paying in person, please use a credit card.
Your tutor will be in touch one week before the start date to give you details specific to your class and the updated COVID19 procedures.
