For the first time, the Folk House will be taking part in a global movement to generate positive social impact called Fair Saturday. Artists and Cultural organisations from all over the world will get together in a global festival to support social causes. It falls on this day because this is the day after Black Friday, the greatest expression of consumerism. Bristol is the first city in England to take part in this year’s movement.
The Bristol Ceilidh run a very popular monthly event the Folk House. In partnership with The Sou’Wester ceilidh band and the Folk House, we will be running a very special event to support some wonderful local charities.
The Sou’Wester Ceilidh Band brings together some of the best folk musicians in the land with the most exciting and entertaining hosts to ever lead a do-si-do. The Bristol-based band deliver a high-energy take on the traditional ceilidh and will have you swinging your partner like never before.
Whether you’re a seasoned ceilidh dancer or a first-timer the Sou’Westers will welcome you with open arms. Hitch up your britches, hang on to your hats, and brace yourselves for the best barn dance in the West.
No experience is needed as we have an experienced caller on hand ready to give you all the instructions you'll need.
Profits of this event will be distributed between our chosen charities. So far announced are LinkAge Network and Fair Saturday.
