About
Steve graduated in Ceramics from West Surrey College of Art & Design. A craft-artist & teacher, Steve’s applied experience has included: Mould-maker, Bronze Caster, Flowerpot thrower & he has been the Sole Proprietor of his “research pottery” business - the St.Werburghs Pottery - making & selling functional pots, whilst teaching & writing, since 1996.
Steve has taught ceramics across mental health, special needs, nursery to adult level education, as well as accredited (HND & Degree level) courses.
He has also run specialist workshops in wheel throwing and Raku & Paper kiln firing. Steve says “Ceramics is “multi-dimensional”…it can illustrate, inform & connect us to a huge material & cultural world.
As makers (we are all makers...) we know this when the things “we’ve” made – surprise!”
