Courses description

Embark on a journey through two and a half thousand years of human creativity. Beginning with the art and artefacts of Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, and culminating in the contemporary art market, this fast-paced introductory course will chart the progression of western art. Over six broad ranging sessions, we will study masterpieces across the scope of western art history. Exploring key movements, mediums and styles, we will discover how art mirrors societal, cultural, and philosophical change, ultimately shaping our understanding of history, beauty, and the human experience.

 

Please note that this course is starting one week after term starts. The last session will be on Monday 15th July.
