In this course you will be taught ten simple stitches that will allow you follow hand embroidery patterns, embellish clothes and accessories and make your own unique pieces of stitched art. Each week you will learn two new stitches, and advice about how to use them in exciting and creative ways. Although there are hundreds of embroidery stitches out there, these ten simple stitches are the building blocks. Once you know (and love!) these stitches you will have the confidence to learn many more. Along the way you will learn how you can transfer designs, where to buy materials, about the different threads, needles and fabrics to start making your own designs. You will be sent a craft kit in the post so you can learn along step by step with the tutor.
This course includes a kit of the materilas you need sent to you in the post. Students will be sent an email link to the Zoom class between 1 to 3 days before the class starts.
This is an online course, you will need a compute ror tablet with Zoom uploaded on it. You will need an internet connection. You will receive an email directly from the tutor with a link to attend the meeting ahead of your class. Please ensure you book with your current email address. You will be sent an embroidery pack in the post. The tutor will email you a week before to confirm your postal address . Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our ‘Contact us’ page. We are not open on bank holiday Monday’s and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
