Learn to capture the unique characters of these birds in sketch form. How to accurately produce well proportion sketches of birds with life and movement will be demonstrated. Reference to the Anatomy of the bird will be provided along with hints and tips on how to best portray the birds' natural forms.
The best use of line and tonal shading to produce a convincing three-dimensional bird will also be explored.
Andy's studies of birds, observed locally, will be used as reference and the methods and challenges of sketching Birds discussed during the session along with how to strike a balance between first-hand observation in the field and the use of photographic reference. Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
