This is an online workshop. Please check material lists section below for extra details.
We will have fun and get creative in this supportive online space. Playing and exploring textures and mark making to unlock creativity. The workshop is for those who are open to experimentation and trying out new ways of working, not afraid to risks. The workshop will cover making our own tools to make marks out of recycled and found materials. We will be using found materials to construct our own 'paint brushes' . We will be using recycled card to create our own 'lino' printing devices.
There will be a focus on the textures one can generate from found materials and the tools they have made in the workshop. We will do a series of exercises with our mark making tools once made to really loosen up ideas for further experimentation beyond the workshop, if the pupils wish to continue afterwards. If comfortable with sharing images the tutor will invite students to email photographs of the work made in the workshop, so she can share with the other students, acting as a virtual gallery.
Students will be sent an email link to the Zoom class between 1 to 3 days before the class starts.

Latecomer
If a course has already started please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
