Slow down and paint one of Bristol’s most beautiful natural landscapes in a mindful, guided watercolour workshop.
This experience is part of City Uncovered: Bristol, taking place from 18th–31st May – a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.
What to expect:
You’ll join your tutor, Holly Foskett-Barnes, for a calm and welcoming workshop inspired by the natural beauty of Leigh Woods. The session begins with an introduction to the landscape and a step-by-step demonstration, helping you understand how to approach painting with watercolours. The workshop will take place at Bristol Folk house, but take inspiration from local surroundings at Leigh Woods.
As you begin creating your own piece, Holly will guide you through a range of techniques—from building washes and textures to capturing the atmosphere of woodland scenes. You’ll receive one-to-one support throughout, helping you build confidence and develop your own style.
The workshop is designed to be as relaxing as it is creative, with a strong focus on slowing down, observing nature, and enjoying the process rather than striving for perfection. Expect a peaceful, mindful atmosphere where you can fully switch off and immerse yourself in painting.
This experience is perfect for:
• Beginners wanting to try watercolour painting
• Nature lovers looking for a creative, mindful activity
• Creatives seeking a relaxed and supportive environment
• Anyone wanting to unwind and reconnect with their creativity
