Step into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine with this beginner-friendly course designed to help you care for your skin, and your whole self naturally.
Using the gentle tools of Gua Sha and facial acupressure, you will learn to create a calming self-care practice that supports glowing skin, reduced facial tension, and overall balance from the inside out.
Each week build on the last with simple, guided techniques and foundational knowledge.
No prior experience needed.
You will explore how the health of your internal organs affect your skin, how to activate key acupressure points and how to use Gua Sha tools safely and effectively for facial rejuvenation. This course is your invitation to slow down , connect with your body, and develop rituals that support both beauty and wellness, naturally and holistically.
Contraindications: Do not use Facial Gua Sha or Acupressure on the following:
Herpes . Shingles . Infectious skin diseases . Open wounds . Recent surgical incisions . Broken bones . Sunburn . Rashes . Bruising . Lesions . Scratches . Fresh Botox . Fillers or any other injections used for freezing the muscles . First trimester if pregnant
Please bring a Gua Sha tool of choice (or the tutor will provide one), facial oil and a soft cloth or towel. Please note that it is best not to wear makeup during a facial massage.

Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our Contact us page. We are not open on bank holiday Mondays and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
