Courses description

Few figures in the history of modern art were as influential - or as unconventional - as Gertrude Stein. More than a writer, she was a visionary collector whose Paris salon became the heart of a revolution in art and literature. From Picasso to Matisse, Hemingway to Fitzgerald, Stein's circle defined the avant-garde of the early 20th century.

In this immersive 3-hour workshop, we will explore Stein's dual role as collector and catalyst. Through images, stories, and discussion, participants will discover how her sharp eye, daring taste, and personal connections helped launch some of the most important movements in modern art.

This is a workshop for all abilities. No prior art historical knowledge necessary, just curiosity and willingness to learn!
