The aim during this one day workshop is to produce an item of lingerie, learning skills of cutting out, working with fine fabrics, sewing techniques and decorative finishes. Choices of lingerie are: - Camisole and knickers - Bustier Set - Bias cut slip - Boxer Shorts This workshop is for learners with some previous knowledge of using the sewing machine, it's not suitable for absolute beginners.
You will need to bring: Pins, needles and tape measure Marking chalk, scissors, matching /tacking threads. Knicker elastic, wider elastic for boxer shorts. You will also need to bring: Fabric suitable for your chosen item. Suggestions- 1.75 mts cotton, Polyester, Silky Satins, 1mt for boxer shorts. 3.5 mts of double/single edged lace Decorative bows, ribbons, buttons etc.. Patterns will be provided. Please no stretchy /lycra materials or stretchy lace. Due to COVID19 please make sure you bring everything required on the materials list as equipment will not be able to be shared. The tutor may provide some materials for your course or workshop which will be distributed following our guidelines. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our ‘Contact us’ page. We are not open on bank holiday Monday’s and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

If a course has already started please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
