This is a chance to use the line dance moves you have learned here at Bristol Folk House or elsewhere. Led by our experienced tutor Christine Power, we will play popular line dance tunes and Folk House class favourites- and dance! There will be minimal teaching as the idea of the social is to put into practice what you know. Although there may be explanations and instructions where there is confusion, or if several different dances are known to the same tune. There will be focus on dancing as a group as that makes it more fun, allowing for mistakes, variations, adaptations and questions, and for people to rest when they need to.
You are welcome to enrol even if you have not previously attended a Folk House line dance class. Cowboy hats are also permitted, though optional! Please book early as this is likely to be popular (or add your name to the waiting list if the workshop is full). Enjoy being part of this new venture at Bristol Folk House!
Shoes- Avoid wearing shoes with a lot of grip as this hinders movement- so no new trainers, although older ones may be ok. Boots, out door shoes and dance shoes are ok- but not any with high pointy heels. You must feel comfortable dancing in whatever shoes you wear.
Please get in touch if you have any additional needs that would be helpful for us to know about, and we will try to arrange adjustments for you to better access the workshop. If you need to bring a carer with you, please let us know in advance so we can ensure there is enough space. Email us on admin@bristolfolkhouse.co.uk or call us on 01179262987.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our Contact us page. We are not open on bank holiday Mondays and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
