Courses description

Part 1. 6.00 - 9.00 pm Explore pinching, coiling, extruding & slab-rolling techniques to create clay 'cloth' (slabs). Apply 'primitive' approaches: to slip (clay paint), impress & texture surfaces. Store for use in Part 2. Part 2. 10.00 - 4.30 pm Cut your cloth designing, discovering & constructing 3x pieces: They might be Functional (vases, containers, etc), Non-Functional (hollow objects) or 'Combination' works. Choose appropriate glazes to be applied by the tutor post-course. This course is ideal for students who either have previous pottery experience or are those who are happy to delve right in. It is not a beginners workshop. N.B. Your finished work will be fired and glazed by the tutor for collection at a later date.
