Weekend of Wheel! For complete beginners and those wishing to improve their skills in this craft. Similar to our one-day workshops but with more time to practice & repeat the techniques of coning, centering, collaring, shaping, turning. At each stage the artistry is subtly unique to every individual. You will select your best works of the weekend to form your collection marking the start of a hopefully long relationship with clay. Your work will be glazed and fired by the tutor for you to collect later in the term.
Please bring your own apron and you are welcome to bring your own tools (remember to take them home after each class). All students and tutors are to wash their hands upon entering the pottery studio. Thorough cleaning, using soap and water, of all tools and equipment used in the class will be expected, allow time before the end of the class for this. You may be asked to wear a mask during the class. Please come prepared.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our ‘Contact us’ page. We are not open on bank holiday Monday’s and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.
Please see full terms and conditions for more information.
If a course has already started please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
