Fancy making some homemade Christmas cheer? Come and join this fun workshop and make your very own Christmas stocking. Using your own fabrics you can create a beautiful stocking with applique designs to brightwelve up your home for the festive season. Suitable for beginners, you will learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine, how to assemble an item from a pattern and how to add fun details with other fabrics and trims. A day of learning sewing tips and tricks, and make your own decoration to last you a lifetime - what more do you want for Christmas this year?!
Scissors- Fabric and paper Basic sewing kit: Pins, tape measure, threads, stitch ripper/ unpicker etc. Fabric marker/ tailors chalk 1m of Bondaweb/Wondaweb Your choice of trims:- buttons, beads, fringing, ribbons etc. whatever you fancy for adding interest/ embellishing your stocking. 1.5m of your choice of fabric to make the main body of the stocking- something medium weight is ideal, not too flimsy or slippery, ideally cotton, linen, corduroy, denim, fleece, felt etc. 0.5m of any contrasting/ complementary fabric or fabrics for applique and contrasting elements.

If a course has already started please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
