Make your own silver ring in this creative workshop! Learn how to form metals into a ring band and add embellishments with textures and hand cut shapes. You will learn techniques such as cutting, filing, forming, soldering and polishing metals as well as how to use a variety of tools.
Please bring your glasses if you wear them. You may wish to wear an apron or wear old clothes. Please bring a tea towel to reduce paper towel waste. It is advisable not to wear open-toed shoes as you will be using hammers.
All equipment and materials will be supplied however learners are welcome to bring their own supplies if they wish or if they have something special they wish to incorporate into their design.
This course includes the cost of tuition and a selection of materials including a choice of silver to make a single, standard width ring band. There will be the option to upgrade to wider or longer 'wrapped' ring bands as well as the option of adding set gemstones (5 - 10 pounds) by speaking to the tutor on the day. If you are hoping to make your own wedding bands, please contact the tutor before attending.
Please note: All 10, and 12 week courses have a half term break in the middle. For term dates please visit our ‘Contact us’ page. We are not open on bank holiday Monday’s and any class that falls on these days will be made up at the end of term.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
