Make your own spinner ring in silver in this creative two day workshop. A spinner ring is two rings together one that moves around the outside of teh first one. Elegant and striking , in this workshop you will learn how to form metals into a ring band and add embellishments with textures and hand cut shapes. You will learn techniques such as cutting, filing, forming, soldering and polishing metals as well as how to use a variety of tools. This weekend workshop is 2 days on 11 and 12 June 2022.
Please bring your glasses if you wear them. You may wish to wear an apron or wear old clothes. Please bring a tea towel to reduce paper towel waste. It is advisable not to wear open-toed shoes as you will be using hammers.
All equipment and materials will be supplied however learners are welcome to bring their own supplies if they wish or if they have something special they wish to incorporate into their design.
This course includes the cost of tuition and a selection of materials including a choice of silver to make a single, standard width ring band. There will be the option to upgrade to wider or longer 'wrapped' ring bands as well as the option of adding set gemstones (5 - 10 pounds) by speaking to the tutor on the day. If you are hoping to make your own wedding bands, please contact the tutor before attending.

If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
