The three sisters can't recall when or why they started playing, the music's always just been there. In their late teens, the sisters joined forces with their dad, who for decades was a one-man band playing old blues and country tunes for a living.
This foundation of classic 'roots music and Americana' settled in their hearts but also awoke the urge of breaking the rules of traditional music. Baskery is a band built on what three people can do together and it's all about turning the music on its head, blending the straightforwardness of punk with the subtlety of singer/songwriting.

After being part of the UK scene for some years either solo or in bands and having supported the likes of Martin Carthy, Geoff Lakeman, Mad Dog McRea, Rusty Shackle, Wille and the Bandits, Alden Patterson and Dashwood, Kitty Macfarlane, Blair Dunlop and many more, Barney Kenny has worked alongside Peggy Seeger, Dougie Maclean and Martin Simpson in the past years. Heavily influenced by world music, blues and rock, Barney blends storytelling and acoustic music with his foot-stomping, delta-blues style worked in with Eastern slide guitar influences to create an incredible festival set of organic, raw talent. His live set is always something to behold with his slide guitar playing never failing to catch the eyes aswell as the ears. He has racked up several thousand views on the Narrowboat Sessions platform and also over social media. His writing crosses many boundaries throughout a live set, from Anglo-Celtic tunes to southern-blues rock to retellings of traditional songs from the transatlantic scene.. His slide playing is ever-exciting to watch whilst his more driving style of guitar playing is the perfect accompaniment to his lyrical narratives.

Barney is also promoting a new album as of Autumn 2022 - The Seaton Tapes - a live ‘in-session’ album that captures his live sound. - https://open.spotify.com/album/6Zn5K0sbzajr8NJjQ7Id01?si=vxo51LNlRaeTkGxA_vJxsw&nd=1
