Join us for a double-header gig with two exciting folk bands with a French twist, Club Débris and Cri du Canard!

Last year the two bands joined forces, for a raucous gig in London, and now they're bringing this delightful collaboration to Bristol. Both acts are inspired by the joy in music which makes people want to dance, with Club Débris' focus on lively tunes from Quebec and Cri du Canard's French and Breton dance repertoire. Joining forces to bring you everything from sultry Breton schottisches to full-whack major key reels, this is an evening not to be missed... welcome to Club du Canard! Or is it Cri du Débris...

Club Débris is a Quebec-inspired folk band based in London, playing high-energy French-Canadian trad music in brazenly major keys. Québécois folk music is the result of many centuries of mixed influences between French, English, Scottish and Irish dance music, and is accompanied by driving, galloping foot percussion rhythms. Club Débris is formed of Will Allen (accordion/fiddle), Maisie Greenwood (fiddle), Duncan Menzies (fiddle/banjo), Will Chamberlain (piano) and Jessie Collins (percussive dance): together, they play no-nonsense tunes with a pro-nonsense attitude.

Cri du Canard (Call of the Duck), are a French folk trio, currently based in the North of England. Grace Smith, Sam Partridge, and Dave Gray invite you to share in the joy of French and Breton music, through the hypnotic interplay of fiddle, flute and melodeon. Expect to be transported to the beating musical heart of France, with an experience as nourishing for the soul as a good bowl of boeuf bourguignon.

FYI:

We have noticed an increasing number of scams / fake tickets for our events recently (especially purchased from social media). We do our best to monitor our social media pages and delete posts from scam ticket sellers, but some still manage to slip the net as we are a small team and do not have the capacity to constantly monitor all of our event pages on social media.

We never accept tickets purchased from unofficial ticket agents or social media platforms.

If an event is sold out – we can refund ticket holders wanting to return tickets provided we have a guaranteed buyer on the waiting list and it is before Friday 12pm on the weekend of the event. Therefore there is never a need to buy from anywhere except for official ticket selling sites (our website, Headfirst, Seetickets. Ticketsellers, Skiddle, Eventbrite or any site that is linked on our website for the event). If in doubt, please contact us before making any purchases.

To avoid disappointment - never buy from an unofficial ticket agent / seller!
