Doors 19:00 Show starts 20:00

Daisy Chapman lived in Bristol for 20 years before heading out to Wiltshire with her young family. Having spent her 20s and 30s trudging the venue circuit Bristol has to offer, she’s thrilled to be coming back to present her new album ‘She Took Flight’ with violinist Sue Lord. Daisy plays piano and sings along with her loop station which provides subtle harmonies in the chorus, a sound that is now so familiar, but Daisy’s style is subtle and unobtrusive. Sue Lord is a very experienced violinist who offers subtly weaved countermelodies, knitting them in and out of the vocal lines, presenting a sonic harmony not usually obtained by a singer songwriter on their own.

Daisy's music may be dark, beautiful, filmic, but the evening her and Sue present is far from gloomy. The tales behind each song are told in an animated and comedic way - whether it's the true story of a girl trapped up a tower in the 1800s, or a nod to women of the world who's work was credited to men, an evening with Daisy and Sue proves as moving as it is educational. Daisy's draws influence from history, nature or interesting facts. Having spent most of the 20teens touring the world with prog rock outfit Crippled Black Phoenix as their pianist and backing vocalist, Daisy is stripping it back for the Folk House - one of the first venues she ever played in Bristol back in 2004.

Will Lawton

Notoriously hard to pigeon-hole, Will Lawton is the singer-songwriter and pianist at the heart of his band of alchemists. This stripped back, solo performance will expose his music and reveal the soulful bare bones of his songs. His work as a music therapist means he has a high degree of self-awareness when it comes to the cathartic, healing power of creativity.
"Music for the mind and body that would surely grace the room of anyone with the desire to absorb and dream." - At The Barrier
“Beautiful. Just beautiful.” - BBC Radio Wiltshire

FYI:

We have noticed an increasing number of scams / fake tickets for our events recently (especially purchased from social media). We do our best to monitor our social media pages and delete posts from scam ticket sellers, but some still manage to slip the net as we are a small team and do not have the capacity to constantly monitor all of our event pages on social media.

We never accept tickets purchased from unofficial ticket agents or social media platforms.

If an event is sold out – we can refund ticket holders wanting to return tickets provided we have a guaranteed buyer on the waiting list and it is before Friday 12pm on the weekend of the event. Therefore there is never a need to buy from anywhere except for official ticket selling sites (our website, Headfirst, Seetickets. Ticketsellers, Skiddle, Eventbrite or any site that is linked on our website for the event). If in doubt, please contact us before making any purchases.

To avoid disappointment - never buy from an unofficial ticket agent / seller!
