The Sound of the Word on tour from the USA
From Vermont (USA), Dana Robinson is a songwriter, guitarist and old-time fiddler with a warm and soulful singing style. Dana’s songs tell stories about rural life with intimate observations of the natural world. His songs delve deep into the landscape with wonder, humour and connection with community and sense of place.
In a time when AI is on the ascent, Dana’s music remains firmly rooted in humanity, in the ways of nature, and in universal truths. Dana’s performances embody a vitality and excitement, which serves to reconnect the audience with the mundane and beautiful things that nourish and bring us joy.
For over 30 years, Dana has been a fixture on the folk and acoustic music scene in the United States and the UK, playing his unique blend of songwriting with traditional influences. Dana’s guitar playing combines British fingerstyle and Appalachian flat-picking to create his own distinctive sound. Dana’s fiddle playing is purely southern old-time and traditional - raw, sweet, and exciting.
Dana’s new recording, The Sound of the Word, is due for release spring 2026 and Dana will be touring throughout the UK to celebrate.

“Rural America explored with elegant simplicity. his music and cleanly poetic songwriting bring to mind the great folksingers of our times.” Asheville Citizen-Times
“Many songwriters such as Bruce Springsteen or John Mellencamp have been heralded as modern day Woody Guthries or keepers of the American rural spirit, but that mantle might be better entrusted to musicians like Dana Robinson who embody both the heart and soul of folk music.” Dirty Linen
“It’s just the kind of music-making and song-making that keeps the past alive in the present.” Songlines
“A poet's perspective delivered in quietly spectacular musicianship ...the music sounds laid back even while his guitar licks are knocking your socks off.” Music Matters Review
