As imperialist wars intensify and global warming accelerates, confronting their shared causes is more urgent than ever. The film 'Earth's Greatest Enemy' reveals the environmental cost of military empire.
Bristol Solidarity Cafe presents a community screening of this anti-imperialist environmental documentary. The film will be followed by an opportunity to discuss the key themes in relation to our current moment and local context.
As we stand in solidarity with those resisting the war machine, this event will fundraise for a fellow activist's legal fees following their direct action against Allianz last summer. Allianz is a driver of genocide and ecocide, insuring and investing in a range of destructive companies, including major fossil-fuel emitters and suppliers of weaponry used in attacks on Palestinians.
Our event will offer a welcoming space to share refreshments and conversation, and to connect with each other during a time when many are feeling the weight of ongoing wars and environmental destruction.
This event is kindly being hosted by Bristol Folk House, an adult education centre dedicated to upskilling and empowering people across the community.
Tickets are available online, over the phone or in person.
