Emma Miler – Live at Bristol Folk House Café | 18th March
Doors: 19:00 | Show: 20:00

Tickets: £8.50

Join us on Wednesday, March 18th for an intimate evening of beautiful music with Scottish singer-songwriter Emma Miller.

The songstress has long been touted for her spellbinding voice and poignant lyricism. Her music is relational, real and deeply layered. Originally from just above the Highlands in north east Scotland, there’s a subtle Celtic inflection in her tone and delivery that only adds to the depth of her songwriting.

With influences ranging from teenage years listening to Imogen Heap and Joni Mitchell to discovering voices like Kate Bush, Annie Lennox and Sarah McLachlan, it’s Miller’s unique blend of powerful melodies, deeply personal songwriting and crystal clear, bell-like vocals that make her a truly captivating artist and performer. Cult magazine CLASH noting "her folk-hewn work has blossomed into something remarkable” and BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson proclaiming her vocals as "rich as a Belgium truffle”.

About Emma:
Scottish songstress Emma Miller has long been touted for her spellbinding voice and poignant lyricism. Her music is relational, real and deeply layered. Originally from just above the Highlands in north east Scotland, there’s a subtle Celtic inflection in her tone and delivery that only adds to the depth of her songwriting.

After spending 5 years living in London where she gained a first class honours degree in songwriting and cut her teeth performing across the city, Miller returned to Scotland to recalibrate and decide if music would be something she continued to pursue. With a new start in Edinburgh, she began retraining to become a therapist but as much as she tried to keep music to the confines of a past life, it came back to the forefront stronger than ever. In 2022 she moved her songs into a new online space where she was embraced by an international community of supporters who have since travelled from as far as Hawaii, Hanover, Romania, South Carolina and Amsterdam to see her perform in the UK.

Today, Emma’s focus remains on community. She regularly shares her unreleased music with her fans on Patreon, has independently sold out shows in Scotland, gigged across the USA and in Spring 2025 she spent 3 weeks deep in the Tennessee countryside recording her debut album with producer Nick Bullock. ‘I Want to Be the Anchor’ is a record filled with the maturity and strong creative perspective that comes from an artist who has spent years honing her craft, overcoming life's challenges and landing in a deeply grounded place. The album will be partially released on streaming platforms, with the full record available on vinyl, CD and digital download on April 24th.
