Fraser Anderson, Friday 28 September 2018
Doors 19:30 Show starts 20:00
Fraser Anderson is a highly acclaimed modern British folk artist.
Hailed by Howard Thompson (Former Head of A&R, Elektra Records) as “the best singer-songwriter I’ve heard in a long time”, the BBC’s Bob Harris as a “truly beautiful voice” and by Rolling Stone Magazine as “one to keep an eye on”, Anderson is a “truly remarkable artist” (BBC Radio Wales). Likened to Damien Rice’s emotionality, Glen Hansard’s crafted storytelling, the intensity of Nick Drake and the lively humour of John Martyn, Anderson stands out in his own right.
If you haven’t heard Anderson’s music yet, you are in for a treat. Words fail to prepare you for the delicate warm and comforting tones of his voice, described by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris as “truly beautiful”.
Anderson’s support tours include the great Joan Armatrading, The Low Anthem, Pete Doherty, revered Italian artist Nicolo Fabi, and the legendary Chuck Berry who said of his music “two thumbs up”.
He has headlined UK dates and appearances at European festivals including Celtic Connections and Reeperbahn.
His second album, ‘Coming up for air’, was picked up and celebrated by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris, and features the musician Greg Lawson. The success of the album lead to his current publishing deal with Metisse Music Publishing in Paris.
