Fraser Anderson, Friday 28 September 2018
Doors 19:30 Show starts 20:00
Fraser Anderson is a highly acclaimed modern Scottish folk artist.
His sophisticated musical tales of human vulnerability and connection takes folk music to a level that is cinematic in reach and vision. A taste-maker with a crooner-like ease of style, his passion for design and cinematography seep into and out of his music, making him an exciting multidimensional artist leading the Modern Cinematic Folk genre.
Hailed by Howard Thompson (Former Head of A&R, Elektra Records) as “the best singer-songwriter I’ve heard in a long time” and described by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris as “truly beautiful”, Anderson has been likened to Damien Rice’s emotionality, Nick Drakes nostalgic beauty, Glen Hansard’s crafted storytelling and the vulnerability & humour of John Martyn.
Anderson has recently announced his UK tour with a series of special performances with Bristol’s finest double bass player Jon Short. Truly a fine blend, Anderson synergises delicate narratives, unusual acoustic tunings and falsetto vocals with the solidity and depth of Shorts double bass prowess.
Performances feature new songs from Andersons due to be released 5th studio album, along with an accolade of much loved Anderson classics spanning 20 years. The tour also boasts support from Katey brooks and Emily Moulton, both rising stars on the UK Acoustic scene.
