Hedera (Bristol Folk Festival)

Bristol Folk Festival are proud to present Hedera.

Hedera is a new Bristol-based quintet brought together by a desire to lean into the slower and more delicate side of European folk traditions. The group’s growing repertoire draws on French, English, Eastern European and Scandinavian music, with playful and inventive arrangements that reflect the diverse array of experience brought by master musicians: violinists Maisie Brett and Lulu Ruby Rose, clarinettist Isis Wolf-Light, Beth Roberts on double bass, and Tamsin Elliott on accordion and harp.

Hedera began life as friends playing folk tunes around winter bonfires, when their other projects (Opa Rosa, Solana, Hands of the Heron) could not perform, during the pandemic.
Intoxicated by the combination of strings and reeds that seems to lend itself to effortless arranging, they have gone from strength to strength. Their debut performance took place at Fire in the Mountain festival in June 2022, and the band have been in demand ever since.

This concert forms part of Bristol Folk Festival 2024.

If an event is sold out – we can refund ticket holders wanting to return tickets provided we have a guaranteed buyer on the waiting list and it is before Friday 12pm on the weekend of the event. Ticketsellers, Skiddle, Eventbrite or any site that is linked on our website for the event). If in doubt, please contact us before making any purchases.
