A bold new voice in folk. Award-winning innovator & multi-instrumentalist Malin Lewis brings fresh energy to Scottish West Coast tradition. A virtuoso on pipes and fiddle, Malin’s powerful take on Scottish folk is full of emotion, movementand meaning. Their captivating playing has taken them from BBC Radio 4’s Front Row, to the big screen, recording music for The Outrun, starring Saoirse Ronan.

Having toured across the UK, Canada and Europe, Malin released their celebrated debut album 'Halocline' (May 2024, HudsonRecords). Ahalocline is anatural boundary that forms where salt and fresh water meet, and is home to unique life forms. For Malin, it’s a metaphor for their trans identify-living in the in-between: a beautiful space between a binary. Malin’s lively sound draws inspiration from legends Martyn Bennet, Duncan Chisholm and Sharron Shannon. But what really sets them apart is the instrument at the heart of it all:, a one-of-a-kind, two-octave Small pipe that Malin designed and built themselves.
