Sam Carter returns with a tour of intimate venues, previewing material from his fifth studio album, which is due for release in 2024.

Over the course of his fifteen-year career, Sam has earned a reputation for vivid, narrative-driven songwriting ‘as penetrating as Richard Thompson’s best work’ (Uncut). A highly regarded instrumentalist to boot, Sam is renowned by many as “the finest English-style fingerpicking guitarist of his generation” (Jon Boden) and has been described as having a ‘killer voice’ by Ivor Novello- winning musician Nitin Sawhney.

His impressive back catalogue and captivating live shows attest to his ability to bring together a diverse set of influences from English folk song and American shapenote singing through to hard rock. Sam has made appearances on national TV, won a BBC Folk Award, and has toured the world, sharing stages with some of folk’s leading lights, including Richard Thompson, Eliza Carthy, Martin Simpson and Nancy Kerr.

FYI:

We have noticed an increasing number of scams / fake tickets for our events recently (especially purchased from social media). We do our best to monitor our social media pages and delete posts from scam ticket sellers, but some still manage to slip the net as we are a small team and do not have the capacity to constantly monitor all of our event pages on social media.

We never accept tickets purchased from unofficial ticket agents or social media platforms.

If an event is sold out – we can refund ticket holders wanting to return tickets provided we have a guaranteed buyer on the waiting list and it is before Friday 12pm on the weekend of the event. Therefore there is never a need to buy from anywhere except for official ticket selling sites (our website, Headfirst, Seetickets. Ticketsellers, Skiddle, Eventbrite or any site that is linked on our website for the event). If in doubt, please contact us before making any purchases.

Lou Shepherd

A Bristol-based folk singer-songwriter who brings the powerful energy of the folk revival firmly into the world of experimental indie-folk, Lou Shepherd’s poetic lyrical perspectives, immersive soundscapes and commanding melodies have quickly positioned her firmly as one to watch. Brought up on the best of the British folk revival and folk sessions in the  Southwest, her live performances have drawn significant attention.

Lou’s enchanting solo performances have gained Europe-wide acclaim, having previously been at the heart of the Amsterdam folk scene. Now back in the West Country, Lou’s awe and wonder for nature shine through. A talented multi-instrumentalist, her lucent and effortless vocals have left a lasting impression with audiences nationwide.
"Louise's magical ability is that she manages to live completely within two different worlds, writing songs that sound straight from the pen of a 70s flower child, and making sounds that fit completely into 21st century indie folk. She manages to make music that is both

"timeless and current, and beautiful in any decade."  Loughlin
