THIS IS NOT A BOOKCLUB | Friday 22nd May | Doors: 18:30 Show: 19:30 - 22:00
You don’t have to read anything first
Sit back and let us read to you
Following THIS IS NOT A BOOKCLUB x SARSAS sellout Bristol Folk House debut in February, we're back in the venue reading words to raise more funds to support all survivors of sexual abuse and violence.
For May's chapter we join bell hooks' quest to understand, 'the meaning of love beyond the realm of fantasy'. Reflecting on 'All About Love', 25 years after its publication, we turn attention to our most intimate source of power and vulnerability in an increasingly narcissistic society.

In 2026 love appears lost beneath hate and division just as science delivers deeper understanding of love’s true power, and we’re presented with an evolving maze of options from polyamory to self-partnership.
About THIS IS NOT A BOOKCLUB
THIS IS NOT A BOOKCLUB is a one hour literary performance that weaves extracts from our focus book between aligned, impressionistic or opposing words. These words take any form from poetry to fiction, science to current affairs.
