Emily has been making and teaching theatre and performing arts within professional and community settings for over twenty years. She has worked extensively as a drama facilitator in FE and HE, as well as the educational provision of theatre companies such as Tobacco Factory Theatre, Travelling Light theatre, and Bristol Old Vic.
She holds a PhD from Bath Spa University in dramaturgy, puppet theatre & scriptwriting, and a Masters in Scriptwriting. She trained in marionettes in Prague.

She is a visiting tutor in dramaturgy at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
As co-founder and artistic director of puppet theatre company Croon productions, she writes, puppeteers and dramaturgs. Croon productions have performed across the UK, in the U.S, Germany and Prague. Their Arts Council funded shows include 'Attack of the 50-foot woman', 'Noir: A Dick Privet Mystery' and 'Spaghetti; a Western'.
Emily advocates a 'theatre as playing' and 'everyone has stories' approach. Although the tutor may have more experience and knowledge of specific topics, any creative endeavour is a collaborative learning experience for everyone concerned.
