Gwen Williams

Tutor Profile

About

Gwen is a movement facilitator, qualified Yoga Therapist and registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (ADMP). She brings over 20 years of personal movement practice and 15 years of teaching. She integrates somatic movement, yoga, meditation, and creative movement practices to help people reconnect with their bodies, breath, and inner awareness.

Her journey with movement began as a teenager when she first discovered yoga, a practice that supported her recovery from chronic fatigue. This early experience sparked a lifelong exploration of how body-based practices can support the mental and physical health, creativity and personal expression.

Gwen encourages curiosity, self-compassion, and embodied experience. Creating a gentle, inclusive, and supportive space where students of all levels can explore movement at their own pace. Finding the movement that supports their unique body to cultivate vitality, ease, and energy in their movement practice and in daily life.

In addition to her teaching and psychotherapy work, Gwen has conducted arts-based research titled Reclaiming the Wild Body, which she developed during her MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy. She exhibited her body, movement and film work from this research in a solo exhibition at Centrespace Gallery last January. This research has now developed into a series of movement workshops, she draws on themes from this work into her teaching practice.
