This workshop will focus on the concepts of Sol Le Witt's wall art. Participants will be provided with canvas boards, acrylic paints, pens, pencils and a set of rules to create their own abstract painting/drawing. Each participant will have up to four canvas boards to complete at their own pace under Catherine's guidance. Unlike Sol Le Witt however, Catherine's instructions will be open to interpretation.
At the end of the session participants will invited to put their tiles together to form one large piece of conceptual art, only to be seen together for that one time. Each participant will take home whatever they have made during the day, which will work as a stand alone piece.
We will consider, authenticity, collaboration, interpretation and communication and the question of rules. When do we keep them and how and when to break them? Much more will be discussed in this fun and relaxing course spent painting in collaboration with others.
A set of paint brushes of various sizes suitable for acrylic paints, a pencil a ruler and a black fine liner.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
