How to play the bass, and how to think like a bass player.
Many people say bass guitar is just an easier version of the guitar - it only has four strings! - but there's so much more to the instrument than that. This course will cover all of the basics of bass guitar, including how to think like a bass player, focusing on rhythm and understanding stylistically appropriate playing for whatever genre of music you like.
This course will still be useful for anyone who wants to enrich their understanding of playing towards the lower end - acoustic and electric guitars cover some of the bass register, and any musician can benefit from understanding the fundamentals covered.
Beginner to intermediate levels.
A bass guitar or guitar. Always a good idea to bring a pen and paper.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
