Ever wanted to act? Fancy treading the boards but do not know how to start?
In this 2.5-day workshop, we will start with just ourselves in a room and work towards a rehearsed and professional performance. We will play fun games to get to know the group and foster trust and openness. We will start to train the voice as a tool for the actor. We will explore how you might start to create and perform a character. Working as a company, you will be cast in an existing play and be directed and encouraged as an actor. Over two days of training and rehearsal, the company will work towards a final public performance on Tuesday 4th August 6.00 - 9.00pm.
All are welcome, a safe, non-judgemental space will be created by experienced tutor Emily LeQuesne and a lot of fun will be had.
Workshop dates:
Day 1: Saturday 1st August 10-4pm
Day 2: Sunday 2nd August 10-4pm
Day 3: Tuesday 4th August 6-9pm (Rehearsal and performance)

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
