This exciting course is suitable for both beginners and those with some previous experience in jewellery making.
Students will learn and develop a range of techniques including texturing, cutting, filing, forming, annealing, soldering and polishing metals such as copper and silver.
Beginners will be introduced to the essential skills needed to start making their own jewellery, while more experienced students can build on their existing knowledge and explore more detailed techniques.
The focus is on creating your own jewellery designs, with plenty of one-to-one guidance from the tutor to support individual projects and help refine skills at all levels. There may also be the opportunity to explore additional techniques such as simple stone setting, depending on experience.
Silver and copper are included in the course fees. However, because the cost of silver has recently increased dramatically, some students may choose to purchase more from the tutor for bigger final projects.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
