This class offers a full body workout focusing on standing strength and balance, combining standing and mat based exercises using small pilates equipment. Challenging body awareness, breathing, range of movement, and strength and balance from your core, whilst focusing on the pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles. A combined practice of controlled movement and stretch that allows both the mind and body to grow in physical strength, settle and release. Designed to encourage ease of movement within the body and a release in the mind. Ideal for those new to exercise and those looking for additional practice. Participants may use a chair to aid balance for standing exercises.
This is not a remedial Pilates class so if you are unsure if Pilates is suitable for you please consult with your GP before enrolling.
The course will run for 12 consecutive weeks with a class in half term on 20th February and will finish on 27th March.

Latecomer
If a course has already started, please call the office as it may be possible to join after the start date. This may only be possible if the course is not already full, if it is not disruptive for the other students and you are aware that you have missed a percentage of the course and the tutor will not have time to catch you up. This will be at discretion of the Folk House. We run our courses termly, so it might be best to start at the beginning of the course.
